An artwall with Wayfair

One of my favourite things to do is to create feature walls. Every room in the house has it's own feature wall. I love to use botanical art and book pages alongside hanging lace dresses, flowers and garlands to create these features and i love changing them around for different seasons.

I mentioned back in January that i am a Wayfair home expert for this year and i have been challenged to create an art wall/gallery with some of the prints sold on their site via The Art Group. I chose two botanical canvases and a deer print canvas. I just loved the colours of the featured flowers and they are perfect for bringing some colour into your home for the spring/summer time. I did originally hang the deer print on the wall but i decided to prop it up on my desk. I love it being there and i love the different feel it gives instead of being on the wall. I use my desk a lot for my crafting and i love to also sit there to edit my photographs so being surrounded by wonderful art is very important to me. It keeps me inspired and i stay focused more when i am in that space. It is very calming and the evening sun streams in and hits the wall. We have tree's outside our bay window and i love to watch the shadow of the leaves and branches on the wall.

When it comes to making an art/gallery wall feature, i don't believe there are any rules or a right or wrong way to go about it. With all my features, i start by bluetacking up everything i want in that space. I then keep them like that for a few days and use that time to get a feel for how i want the feature or display to be. I love to mix lots of different things in the wall but most of my features have a similar theme which is a flower garland, botanical prints and a lace dress. I then just add little bits around them and change positions. I love having a new space to decorate and i am currently working on a new alcove corner in my dining room. We removed a big computer desk and i added a little cabinet there. I picked up a letter tray from Wayfair and i have put all the things i want in that space on top of my cabinet to see how i can make it work. I cannot wait to have that space completed and to play around with it.
