Amongst the mountains

Last week, we got back from a week away in North Wales. It was magical, not just because of all the scenery and adventures but just the simple fact that the girls laughed all day every day. We did, however, arrive a day early. Gilles was in charge of booking and checking our booking details but he had actually booked for the day after by mistake. We managed to get a night at another holiday park close by and we did get an extra day in Wales! Last year, we stayed on a camp site and this year, both Gilles and i decided to take the girls to a Hoseasons holiday park where they could go to the kids club and there was evening entertainment every night. We both have fond memories of staying on holiday parks when we were both young and, to us, our holidays right now are all about the girls and them having the best time. I did want to have a day out in Snowdonia so we picked a day where it was warm and we headed out. We also took a spontaneous drive up the great orme on our last day because i had wanted to go and see a waterfall but the weather just wasn't good enough and i didn't want the girls to get too cold and wet. Gilles is taking me to the Lake District at the end of the month and we already have our adventure at the waterfall there planned.

Apart from the one day out in snowdonia, we didn't plan any other days. We stayed on the park for three of the days with just a little walk along the beach in the evening before the evening entertainment started. We didn't have the best weather so we were happy to just potter about. We did swimming and the girls did ballet school and party dance classes as well as having a chocolate party, doing science experiments and making their own fairytale books. The activities were amazing and i also think they both drunk their weight in slush puppies!

Our day in Snowdonia was everything i had wanted it to be. I wanted to go to the fairy glen but we got completely lost and couldn't find the right track and i didn't want to drag the girls around trying to find it so we headed down to lynn crafnant which is the most beautiful lake in the mountains. There was a forest next to it which had a beautiful babbling brook through it so, of course, i jumped the fence and frolicked around abit in it ;) It was just too beautiful not to have some pictures taken there and i think they are my favourite ones of me yet!

Right by the beach, the dunnes were covered in wild flowers. Ragwort, ox-eye daisies and purple loosestrife. I took a walk through the meadows down there once evening by myself and sat on a hill top watching the tide come in. I felt so at home. Amongst the mountains and by the water. I feel it is my perfect environment and for the girls too!
