Picking buddleia

One of our favourite things to do in the summer is to pick buddleia. We always go to the same place that is between the wasteland and the lake. This year though, they are actually building a new university but the part were the buddleia is is still there just past all the building works so we were really lucky. I was worried it would be part of the building site but it looks like that path to the lake will be untouched. I just love standing back and letting the girls fill their baskets. They also picked a lot of wild flowers that were around and when we got home, we pressed them all in our flower press.

I love buddleia. The smell is delicious. I actually have a buddleia bush in the garden but the flowers are a much brighter purple, almost a pink and i love the pale purple ones better. Plus, this is a little tradition for us and one that i hope to carry on doing for many many years!

You can see our previous years here and here.
