A lovely sunday

We woke early this morning and straight after breaskfast we went out for a walk. The girls wanted to go and collected flowers and nature finds in their baskets to make birds nests. We explored the woods, played amongst the snowdrops and then the girls climbed trees, pretending it was a fairy house. They gathered flowers, dried grass and old mans beard to make their nests. We also found a pheasant tail feather that the girls were so excited about as it was the biggest feather they had seen. Mia had found a few smaller feathers and her she squeeled when she found he pheasants feather in the meadow.

We came home, put on the record player and the girls made their little nests for the birds. We make them every year and next week, we shall die some eggs to put in the nests and put them on the girls nature shelves. I love this time of year when the flowers start to bloom and the weather is starting to get warmer. We can stay out a lot longer on our adventures and, today, we spent the whole morning just gathering and exploring. I wanted to do a video of the girls with my digital camera but when we got to the trees and i started to film, my battery flashed up and then the camera died. We have decided to go back after school one day this week or even next weekend to do it all over again!
