Since i was 18, i have always known that i wanted to be a photographer but i was never sure on what path i wanted to take. I tried weddings and i tried children's photography sessions. I did love both but because i have awful anxiety, i felt both very stressful and i would panic for weeks before. I wanted to take a path that i could be completely creative with and i could do shoots my own way and in my own time.
For a few years, i have worked with a few brands to create some images for them to use for product shots of their items and it was my favourite type of work. I had control of what i was shooting and i got to use my little ladies in the process which took the stress away as they both love having their photograph taken. Mia started full time school in September and i had a choice on whether i was going to get a day time job or whether i was going to give my photography a go. I was already registered as a business from a few years back and i made money through my blog and through weddings so i thought it was the perfect opportunity to really knuckle down and see what i could do.
Since September, i have been so lucky to have been able to work on some amazing shoots, including two look books. I am gaining confidence every day and learning from my mistakes. It is going to take a while to be absolutely confident with what i am doing but i have only been doing this for a little time and i know, with time and more shoots, that confidence and experience will just get bigger. As well as working with children's clothing brands, i have loved taking photographs of other products and i have loved thinking outside the box to create unique set ups for those products. Beautiful jewellery, baubles, calender, art work, dolls and other lovely treasures. Creating little fairytale scenes in the woods, using my own feature walls in my home and using vintage books and botanical prints.
I am so excited for this venture. It has taken me a long time to get to this point and a lot of hard work and i am so proud of myself. I have followed my heart and i hope that this year, i am able to create many more unique and creative images for brands. I am excited for this little path i am taking and i am going to put my everything into making it work.
