Lately

It is the last day of the school holidays. Elle has spent most of this afternoon lying on the sofa with a "poorly tummy". She is nervous i think. I remember the day before school last year, she had the same funny tummy and i just asked her now if she was nervous and she said she was but excited too. The holidays have gone so quickly! Mia starts preschool next week and Elle is going into year one. I just wish we could go back to the end of July and have all those weeks ahead of us again. It will be nice to be back into a routine though and to sort out this house a little! From next week, i will have two days a week at home without the girls whilst Mia is at preschool which gives me time to work more on my photography and other little crafting projects.

The summer was pretty great to us. We had a lovely holiday in Norfolk followed by another day trip back to there a few weeks ago with my mum. We have met up with friends and been blackberry picking and "fishing" in the stream with rods of sticks and string. We have been on many walks and adventures. A favourite of mine was last week when i took the girls and my younger sister to the forest and we made a teepee and played amongst the fir trees. I love that place as we went nearly every week when i was younger, so it was very nostalgic for me. We have also had a few days at home were i have introduced Mia to some workbooks for preschoolers to help her with counting and her numbers etc. I did this with Elle also and it means i can help and encourage her alongside the learning she will be doing at her preschool. We have shapes, colours, the alphabet and counting to 20 down but now i want to help her start recognising numbers and letters and she is enjoying learning and "being like her big sissa".

So, i am excited and nervous all at the same time to see what these next few months bring. Elle is going to start doing structured lessons in her new school year and Mia will be learning more and more everyday. I also have my two days free time where i can challenge myself and start ticking off little goals and achievements that i have set myself!
