(Girls dresses c/o Leopold and Livia)
Elle is wearing the Angelina silk dress.
Mia is wearing the Angelina cotton dress.
On Saturday, we headed back to our happy place. The heather meadow. The heather was fading but it was still so beautiful which a richer and darker colouring. I am so glad we managed to fit in another trip before the heather disappeared completely and I got to take my best friend, Hannah, with us to share our happy place with. It was a wonderful day full of photographs, exploring, dancing and laying in the heather, climbing trees in the forest, seeing the ponies and finding fairy mushroom houses. In the words of Elle, when she came across the fairy mushrooms "Could it get any better? First the ponies and now this!". She was mesmerised by the ponies. There were two up on the hill who came up to Elle as she stood really still. She was standing there in front of the two ponies for a good fifteen minutes with them staring straight at her. Hannah and i both agreed that she was the horse whisperer. Mia got completely covered in black dirt all over her face as she was planting pretend tree's in the forest. Hannah took some photographs of me and the girls in the meadow as well which i shall be sharing here very soon. It was a pretty magical day and we are already looking forward to next august when the heather is in bloom again!
These photos have taken me back in time. They look like Little House on the Prairie. So traditional and natural. Beautiful! x

ReplyDeleteIt's such a beautiful spot I can see why it's your happy place! The colours and texture remind me so much of Dartmoor but then it's too flat for that, it's really funny to me, it looks all wrong for my expectations of heather and ponies!!
