Before i had the girls, i would take myself out on my bike nearly every weekend. I would ride for miles and find a meadow and sit and read or take photographs or just "be". Alone time is something that i really love and i love my own company, especially when i am out in the countryside and taking in everything around me. I don't get a lot of time to do that now but when i do, it is such a big thing.
On Monday, i was invited out to the towns camera club photography walk. It was along the river by my house at sunset. I decided i wanted to just take sun drenched photographs. I love capturing light and love playing around with my camera to see what i can create. Golden light is my favourite light to work with. I love finding new angles and letting the sun bounce off my lens. We walked along the river and when we got to a certain point, just near a meadow i love, the rest of the group decided to turn back. I carried on with a few others to get to the meadow as the sun was just about to set. I lay down in the long grass and just snapped away. A lovely gentleman stopped behind me on the path and said to me that i was amazing for managing to capture that light. I showed him my photographs and i told him how best to capture the light and not to be afraid of shooting directly into the sun. I then went onto another section of the meadow and as i was snapping, i noticed there was a man standing right behind me with his dog, watching the photographs come up on my camera back. When i noticed him, he made his apologies and walked away but it was nice to know he was there even though it freaked me when i first saw him! I just wish i had my tripod so i could have danced around in the meadow. That would have really been something for them to stare at!!!
