Buddleia crowns

Today, my friend Laura came around and we went to the wasteland to do a little buddleia and blackberry picking. I love going to the wasteland but they are going to build a new university there in the next year or so, which makes me sad. I have seen fox's and deer's there and the most beautiful of wild flowers grow there.
The girls loved picking blackberries and we shall be going out in the next two weeks to do a big blackberry pick to make pies with.

When we got back to the house, Elle had a little girl come to play so Laura and i made up some flower crowns. I then helped the girls make their own crowns and they loved them. The little girl took hers home to show her parents and Elle and Mia put theirs in their room and of course, my ones is hanging up on my bedroom wall!

  3. I know how you feel. Like most british cities ours is always expanding and a few years ago they built houses and a supermarket on what had been wasteland for decades and we list si many trees, birds, foxes....I hope "your" deer and foxes find somewhere better to live (ours were poisoned)

    1. Oh that is so sad! Poor creatures. Woodland creatures are my most favourite and it makes me sad that their little home wil lbe ripped up. the wasteland is next to the lake that we go to as well and all the wildlife there will be scared away by the digging and work and then hundreds of students descending on the grounds :( x

  4. Cute! I would be tempted to send them outside with the crowns to see if any butterflies come to land on their heads!

  5. The flower crowns are so sweet. I remember making bracelets out of white wild flowers when I was a little girl (along with mud pies!) With the progression of our world (computers included) I worry about loosing the appreciation of the simple things. Progress happens no matter where you are and it's not always for the best.
