Oxeye daisies at sunset

If you ever get the chance to sit in an ox-eye daisy meadow on top of a hill at sunset, you should! It felt like I was in some kind of fairy world. I love this meadow and always look forward to it blooming. At sunset, it lights up like a scene from Alice in Wonderland.

When I thought of August, I imagined so many evenings sitting in flower fields but, as we all know, rain, wind and storms have been sweeping through. Last night, I sat with my best friend and our girls on the hill next to our favourite wood. It always reminds me of the heath at the end of The Secret Garden. It reminded me to embrace any sunny evening we have because, soon, the nights will be dark and cold and I shall be yearning for flower meadows and late sunsets again.With the warmer weather this week, I shall be finding some magical fields and taking my books. I hope to be able to share some of these evenings here.
