English cottage project

Last Summer, I was browsing a second hand book shop at Charlecote Park and I came across two books with beautifully painted victorian english cottages in. I was immediately enchanted and i paid the lady my money and held on to my books as we walked around the deer park. As my husband drove us home, I became completely engrossed in the paintings. They were just magical and I couldn't stop looking at them. I read through the books over the next few nights and googled the painters for more paintings to fall in love with.

Falling in love with these paintings by painters such as Helen Allingham and Arthur Claude Strachan inspired me to start a photography project. One of my favourite things to do is to drive around villages, finding old thatched and oldy worldy cottages with roses and wisteria and hollyhocks. I have decided this year to create photographs using the girls in front of these pretty cottages I find. The girls in long lace dresses, straw hats and holding wicker baskets. I have been spending the last few weeks on instagram saving photographs I find of pretty cottages and making pins on my map to visit them for my project. I cannot wait to share this project with you all. Emerging myself into these sort of projects is amazing for my mental health. Just being able to drive around the countryside, find pretty places and keep myself calm and inspired.  For more help on mental health, the counselors at BetterHelp are wonderful.
