Golden leaves

It is now December and we have started to use the activity advent calendar i made. Day one was for them to write their letters to Father Christmas. Every year they do this on the 1st. They lay by the tree with the twinkling lights and they write their list. We then post them in the post box across the road. Day two was their portable north pole video message from Father Christmas. They both took it in turns to snuggle up on my bed with me to watch their own video and then they both came up and watched each others. Father Christmas told Elle in hers that she needs to make sure that her bedroom is tidy as she plays with all her toys and then leaves them on the floor so, last night, she tidied up her whole room!

Day three was to go to the forest with their baskets and to collect forest treasure to makes wreaths and crafts with. This didn't really go to plan as we were going to go as a family but Gilles had lots of things to do and sort out before going away with work for the week and Elle had a birthday party to go to late afternoon so we decided to go to the abbey near our home as i had some product shots i needed to do as well. The girls collected leaves and then they had a big leaf fight with their Daddy. It was a lovely little adventure and i snapped some iPhone pictures of it. We shall still be going to the forest on another day to do our wreaths and crafts but we were content with our walk today so that is all that matters. Sometimes, it doesn't always go to plan and as i plan these activities in advance, it is hard to predict each day. It was so lovely though and to hear the girls giggling and squealing as their Daddy hid behind the trees, throwing leaves at them was just wonderful!
