Bee's in the ragwort

One of my goals for this school year was to take myself out on more adventures and to write in my nature journal. Write about the things i find, the insects, the animals. Paint and press and collect everything.

Yesterday, i took myself to the meadow and woods where the ox-eye daisies had been. I started off exploring in the fir tree forest and then that lead me out to where the daisies had been. Of course the daisies have now gone but in it's place was a meadow of ragwort. I came out of the edge of the forest and i was so amazed by the meadow. It was pure gold as far as i could see. I could hear the bee's buzzing and being so busy so i decided to sit down where i was and watch. I had my camera with me and took a few photographs. I watched one little bee for a while. Flying from flower to flower, getting drunk on the nectar and there were even a few bumble bee's but they were busy further into the meadow and i didn't want to move around and disturb the bee's too much. As i sat there, a beautiful speckled wood butterfly landed next to me.

The tree's were started to turn. The leaves falling already and leaving carpets of orange and brown on the floor. I cannot wait until all the trees of orange and gold and i shall be coming back here to sit amongst the bee's again really soon.
