The christmas tree farm

Today, we took our first trip to the christmas tree farm. I have been planning a trip here for weeks and as Gilles is away again now for work, we took this morning out to go and pick our trip. I had a big smile on my face as we drove down the lane to the farm and the owners were so kind and gave us a lovely greeting. We were shown the different trees in the field and then left alone to pick out our tree. The girls had the best time and we eventually found the tree (the one that Mia is stroking in the picture). We tied the tree to the car roof and drove home. Both Gilles and i loved that everyone kept looking at the car when we had stopped. We were quite proud to be that family that drove with their huge christmas tree on their roof!

The tree is now all lit up and decorated in the bay window. It is the best tree we have ever had and we are going to be going back every year to the tree farm now. The experience was so magical. I kept thanking the lady as we left for making it such an amazing experience for us as a family. These sort of days are what i love. Creating memories, creating traditions and creating magical moments for the girls to remember. They love that they helped picked the tree and they loved watching the man cut down the tree for us. I am already looking forward to next year!
