Today, my best friend Hannah came over and bought the girls a gingerbread house kit to do. I had already put in their number 14 advent stocking that we were going to make a gingerbread house today! They were so excited and we got to work. I put together the house, but they then decorated it between themselves. Elle was the "icing girl" and Mia was the "sticking the sweets on the icing girl". We make a house every year and normally try and so it ourselves but this year, we decided it would be easier to use a kit and it also meant that we had more time during the day to get up to other activities. We exchanged gifts. Hannah gave me a beautiful fox notebook and a framed bunny picture. I framed her a photo of us both from my fairy series.
After the gingerbread house making, i did a little photoshoot with the girls for an exciting project and then we stayed up in Elle's room until it was dark. We then put on another shadow puppet show before dinner. It was a wonderful day and has really put me in the mood for Christmas day now :)!
P.s You can see our other gingerbread houses here and here.
Awww I love it, and as always, such beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kelly :):) xxxxxx
DeleteIt came out super cute! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you. I love it :) They did such a good job x
DeleteAmazing! I've never had the confidence that a gingerbread house would work out but you make it look quite easy here.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you. This is a kit so it was pretty simple. The last two years, i printed out a template and did it myself but it was more stressful and the whole point is the decorating, so i thought a kit would be the best option x
DeleteSweet! Literally ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks they had a great time doing that - I'm tempted to buy a kit myself now!
I can smell it on the table everytime i walk past! I just want to eat it ha
Deletep.s morrisons do the kits ;) x
I love this - so cute! Your daughters are beautiful :) I hope it tastes as good enough to eat as it looks.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! It smells wonderful! We shall be having nibbles on boxing day :) x
Deleteso cute! I'm tempted to get one for Wilf (they do them at IKEA which is about ten mins walk from us!) x
ReplyDeleteYes you should! This is from morrisons :) x
DeleteLovely. It would make a lovely activity for my lot when the break up from school next week x
ReplyDeleteOh yes :) You should all do it. It's great fun and you could put christmas music on in the background too x
DeleteSo sweet, and the photos are beautiful. Love your blog & Pinterest. ~ Lin
ReplyDeleteHello Lin. Thank you so much x
DeleteI really ought to get around to making a house with the boys. You have such beautiful photos and they look like they enjoyed it so much.
ReplyDeleteHow neat! This is delightful! If I had my girls do a gingerbread house, there really wouldn't be one...they'd eat the candies before even decorating! Ha! xoxoxo Jen
ReplyDeleteOh that looks fab. Tempted to have a go with my girls.... But my stuff usually ends up as a disaster!
ReplyDeleteSo so happy looking at this tonight dear K :) Sweetness all around. That first pic with the flowers in the vase and the house is so lovely...i do love flowers like that. So glad you got to be with Hannah to do this specialness!
