Our gingerbread house

Today, my best friend Hannah came over and bought the girls a gingerbread house kit to do. I had already put in their number 14 advent stocking that we were going to make a gingerbread house today! They were so excited and we got to work. I put together the house, but they then decorated it between themselves. Elle was the "icing girl" and Mia was the "sticking the sweets on the icing girl". We make a house every year and normally try and so it ourselves but this year, we decided it would be easier to use a kit and it also meant that we had more time during the day to get up to other activities. We exchanged gifts. Hannah gave me a beautiful fox notebook and a framed bunny picture. I framed her a photo of us both from my fairy series.

After the gingerbread house making, i did a little photoshoot with the girls for an exciting project and then we stayed up in Elle's room until it was dark. We then put on another shadow puppet show before dinner. It was a wonderful day and has really put me in the mood for Christmas day now :)!

P.s You can see our other gingerbread houses here and here.

  3. Amazing! I've never had the confidence that a gingerbread house would work out but you make it look quite easy here.

    1. Oh thank you. This is a kit so it was pretty simple. The last two years, i printed out a template and did it myself but it was more stressful and the whole point is the decorating, so i thought a kit would be the best option x

Looks they had a great time doing that - I'm tempted to buy a kit myself now!

  10. How neat! This is delightful! If I had my girls do a gingerbread house, there really wouldn't be one...they'd eat the candies before even decorating! Ha! xoxoxo Jen
