School

Elle started school yesterday. She was more than excited and was so desperate to get her uniform on at 7am! We took her to her teacher and she went into her class room. She sat straight down at a table and started drawing a family picture. She then looked at us and said "bye mother, bye father"! She didn't even want us there! She went for her second morning today and came home with her first words to learn to read. We sat with her at the table this afternoon and she learnt to read three words already! I am so proud of her. I was so anxious all yesterday morning, worrying about if she felt scared or alone or worried but she was so brave and happy and completely loves school already!

She will start full days on Monday and is excited to sit and have her lunch in the hall at school with her friends. I really couldn't be any prouder or her and how she has taken this all in her stride. She turns 5 next week and has asked if she can wear a big "5" badge to school. It will be her first birthday where she isn't at home!

It's been a strange two days. I have dreaded this for a while. It kind of feels like someone has kidnapped your child for a certain amount of time and you are not allowed to see them. I know i will get used to it and i have all this one to one time with Mia now. I am excited to have this time with Mia and start taking her swimming again and finding toddler groups. She looked a little lost yesterday as she is so used to being with Elle all the time but i know she will start to grow as her own person.

  2. Oh look at her excited little face, bless her! I used to be a Reception teacher and I never really got how weird it must be to send your child off to school until I had my own. I'm sure that Elle is going to do brilliantly at school. x

    1. Hello dear! Thank you. She completely loves it. It is so hard! Her teacher is very young, so i assume she must think the same! When i had our teacher visit with her, i explained how anxious i was and how i really wanted to just keep her at home and home school her and she was a bit baffled about why i wouldn't want her to be at school. I just miss her so much ha x

  3. My little girl started school last week too and she is loving it. She runs in barely looking back to say goodbye. I hope this enthusiasm continues!
I am getting used to not having her around during the day and it's also very nice having so much more quality time with my son.

    1. How is she getting on? Is she on full days yet? Elle started full days yesterday and loves it. I am getting used to the time as well. Mia has gone down for a nap so i have until half 2 now to just have alone time before the school run. I rather like this ;) x
