Learning corner inspiration

Elle starts school in 10 days! I can hardly believe it! We cleared a corner in her room recently to set up a learning/craft corner for her. I have been looking for ideas and found a few on pinterest that have given me some inspiration.

I am looking to try and find an old school desk with the lift up lid. I remember having one in my bedroom when i was younger. Our school was selling them off and my parents bought one for me and my sister so we could sit and do our homework and learning. I would love to find one for Elle too, so she can keep her learning books in the desk and then we had more wall space for other little bits and pieces. Yesterday, i picked her up a world map poster for the wall and she has her solar system poster in her room too. I have asked her for her input, as i want it to be how she wants it. She is very particular when it comes to her room as it is. We are going to pick out a few pieces of artwork together. I have fallen in love with this print and she loves it too, so i hope to get it for her for her birthday to stick up with some washi tape.

I love the idea of putting up a blackboard, so we could write some letters out for her to look at. I have found a few alphabet posters around but thought a black board would be better, so we can use it beyond her learning all her upper and smaller case letters. She can practice spelling and reading words for example. I am excited to get this space together, but i need to find a desk first before we do anything. She has also asked for a record player in her room as she has a few Disney records she wants to play.

I shall be updating the blog with photographs of her corner as it progresses. Even though i am excited to start her learning area for her, i am not excited about her starting school! 10 days!
