Blackberry picking

(Elle wears "Bounty" and Mia wears "Circus". Both dresses c/o I love bread and jam. You can be apart of the "teeny club" and get 10% off your first order by signing up here.)

Today, we decided to go blackberry picking. The plan was to get a basket of blackberries but Mia was more interested in eating them as she picked them and Elle was more interested in picking flowers. After a little run in with some gypsy children, who made both girls cry and this mama get mad and shout at them, we went to the meadow and then to the brambles to pick some berries. We shall be going out again in the next few weeks to pick more black berries and to also pick plums like we did last year! Looking back at last years pictures, it just amazes me at how much they have both grown. I am going to take a photo of them walking hand in hand together each year we go. We are now looking forward to more fruit picking.

  1. I think I say this every time I visit your blog, but stunning photos. The girls look so incredibly cute in their dresses.
Sorry you had a not so nice experience on your walk. I hope it goes better when you go blackberry picking next time. And I was exactly the same as Mia when I was little, I ate most of the blackberries we used to pick. x

    1. Thank you Lucy! Right by the lake is a road that people can park on to walk their dogs and it has been taken over by gyspies. We just got by the road to walk to the lake and four boys around 7 or 8 came around the corner. They walked next to the girls and one of them grabbed Elle's basket and took our her flowers. I told him to leave the girls alone and to go and play somewhere else and stop bothering people and then another one went up to the girls faces and roared at them. They both started screaming and crying and i went mad!!! They ran off but came back just after shouting abuse at me so i chased them off! Horrible little children. I am not judgemental against different "groups" but they, unfortunately, showed themselves up. x

  2. Those dresses are absolutely gorgeous! How I wish my girls were small again!

I used to love going blackberry picking with my nan and cousins. We used to come home covered in scratches after digging deep in the bushes, but it was so fun!
