Lately

This week. Elle, Mia and i have been going on "blossom tree hunts". The trees are finally starting to bloom and we just love blossom. Tomorrow, we are going along a new part of the river to try and find more blossom trees. I am excited to go exploring. We have the river and canal by the house and we usually go along the same way. Today, we were coming home on a train and went past the other side of the canal and i spied beautiful bridges and a really lovely lock so tomorrow will be an exploring day.

Last Thursday, my mum had both of the girls for the first time ever over night. Gilles and i had the whole 24 hours on a date. We haven't had a child free day and evening in three years and we really really needed this. We dropped the girls off at my mums and went to the garden centre to pick out some flowers for our hanging basket outside our front door. We stopped for cake in the cafe and then wondered around some shops looking at plate sets. In the evening, we went out for dinner followed by a walk through the fun fair. We then went to see Oz: the great and powerful in 3D at the cinema. Oh, i loved it! It was wonderful. We had such a wonderful evening and the next day, Gilles took me shopping for a new dress and then we hit up Ikea. It was such a lovely date with him. I felt so loved up and it felt like we were teenagers again, going on our first dates! I do love that boy.

This evening, i am not feeling too hot. I had an awful night with the girls and hardly slept and now it is catching up on me so i shall be heading to bed real soon.

  3. I'm thinking of asking my mom to babysit Ethan one day so my husband and I can spend a long date day together, too. My son is almost 2 and my husband and I have only had one night out (to a concert), which is kind of sad. It's so important to keep your relationship fresh!

    As always, adorable photos. <3
