exploring the river

We love the river. Elle and i are such water babies and if i ever ask her where she wants to go, it is always for a walk along the river or around the lake. On thursday, we came home from meeting some friends on the train and as we came into our town, we rode over a bridge and i saw a beautiful lock in the canal. Whenever we go along the river, we always go the same way so we planned today to go exploring and find the lock. We have one right by our house but we wanted to go and find this other one so we set out and as we came across the lock, a canal boat came along so we sat down on the path and watched the boat go through. I explained how it all worked and she watched, fasinated. I am so glad she is interested in these little things in life and is just like me. Right by the lock is a sweet little meadow and i can see us visiting here for picnics in the next few months.

Tomorrow, we are heading to the beach with my mum and her boyfriend. It is going to be the hottest day of the year so far and i am excited to get to the sea. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
