Fairy houses and mushrooms

I always seem to feel the most calm and safe when i am in the woods. Exploring the many layers a wood offers. The ferns, the rows and rows of beautiful, delicate trees and if you are so so lucky, you might find a magical stream. I always follow the streams path. Follow my heart and see where it leads me.

Today, it led me to a golden patch of ferns. The fallen leaves were so beautiful. It took my breath away yet i was breathing so fast. I was carrying my basket full of fairy house furniture, tiny red spotted mushrooms and the most perfect mushroom necklace made by Meadow and Fawn. She so kindly sent me the necklace to photograph and i knew this was the place. The place for the most perfect fairy world surrounded by gathered pine cones and acorns. Necklaces hanging in the ferns and a little log to sit on next to it to read my botanical book.

I stayed there for a while. I felt quiet. I felt peaceful. I kneeled down and took photographs, i gathered more leaves in my basket and i made friends with a squirrel. I called him Sir squirrel because he looked rather fancy. I could imagine him in a bow tie and a top hat! He followed me through the woods. I think he wanted my acorns!

How beautiful is the necklace. A little glass frame with the tiniest clay mushrooms and moss. I now have it hanging on my bedroom wall. I think i shall wear it with my new lace dress tomorrow and go for a little bike ride!

  3. Gorgeous photos, and necklace. I love the woods, and mushrooms always make me think of fairies. I've been trying to explain it to my boys, but they are to literal for fairies so it's just me. I loved visiting your blog, it made me remember all the things I love about autumn :)
