Picking the tree

It is finally December which means christmas has started. I posted yesterday about hanging up the girls advent activity garland and today, they had their first love letter from Father Christmas which told them we were going to get the tree. I wrote it so Elle could read it and she was so excited that she would read the note all herself and started squealing and started telling her sister what we were going to do.

We don't have our car fixed just yet, so we took a little walk to our local hardware store and the girls helped pick out our tree. When we got home, we put on some christmas music, had a little dance and decorated the tree and hung up the stockings. I love this day every year and next year, we will be visiting the christmas tree farm again to pick out our tree. I love creating these memories and we are so excited for christmas this year.

  1. I'm not even sure where we can fit our tree this year as I have a crawling baby who is likely to try and pull it down at every opportunity! I love the fact that all the things we do every year for our kids will hopefully be passed down to their kids when they are adults. Christmas is such a special time x

    1. When Elle was 1, i had to take my tree down before christmas day because her and her kitten worked as a team to destroy it!!! Tilly the kitten would tap off the baubles and Elle would grab them and run around with them. BOO!! I remember that well ha x

  2. You can't beat the smell of a real tree can you? This year we are doing two trees, a fake one in the lounge - as a real one can't take the heat from the log burner - and a real one in the dining room - can't wait to go and get it!!!
    Beautiful photos x

    1. No, you can't! It's wonderful. I love the idea of two trees! Elle has a tiny tree in her room that she decorates each year by her fireplace. NExt year, we will get Mia one for her room too and she can pick out her own decorations :) x

  6. Oh I LOVE how Father Christmas left a note about the tree. My son is well into reading now and he'd love something like this. Gorgeous photos, hope you all enjoyed decorating your tree.
