Sunflower fairies

Last month, i had a dream that was so vivid, i can still remember every single detail. There was a sunflower field and in the middle of the field was a tree with a wooden swing hanging from it.On the swing were my two little ladies. Linked arms and their hair golden in the sun. They were giggling and care free and swinging back and forth. In the dream, i was looking at the scene from a distance. Just the two of them, so perfectly innocent, happy and free. I can still picture it now. I can still hear their giggles and laughter and it makes me smile every single time. I had never seen a sunflower field before as they are so rare to come across. I wanted to find one so much and at the beginning of last week, i got a text from my mum saying that there were sunflowers in one of the fields she passed on the way to work. I got in my car and found my way there. It is around thirty minuets from my house in the car but as i pulled up, i saw two huge fields just covered in sunflowers. I stood in a walkway and took some photographs and watched some bee keepers collect honey from a hive in the field. I knew i had to take the girls back there for photographs. Yes, there wasn't the tree and swing from my dream but it didn't matter.

Today, i drove the girls there. I talked about the sunflower field with them and told them both the dream i had and they were excited to see it. They haven't seen a sunflower field either and we were all looking out for it as we got nearer. When we saw it in the distance, both the girls squealed. I turned down the lane and instantly noticed that half of the field was completely bare. I parked up and realised that the farmer was out in his tractor, mowing all the sunflowers down. There was only half a field left and he was mowing them down pretty fast! I ran after the tractor and the farmer stopped. I pleaded with him to stop so i could do some photographs. I asked him to give me just a few minuets on the edge of the field to do some photographs and i was so happy and lucky that he said yes. I had plans to use my digital camera but the sun was in and out and i didn't want to mess around with changing my settings. I just used my phone and let the girls roam amongst the sunflowers whilst i took pictures. I knew the farmer was waiting for me but i also knew i would regret it so much if i didn't take my time and get as many pictures as i could before leaving. We had actually planned to go to the field later on in the day to catch the sunset but i just had a strong feeling to go earlier and i am so glad we did!

I am so in love with these photographs. I do love using my digital camera but sometimes i also love just capturing moments on my phone. They seem more candid and it was quicker for me. I loved how they came out and showed the girls them when we got back to the car. Elle was especially happy with them and kept saying what a beautiful adventure it was. And it really was. Days like this really make me happy. Just roaming amongst beautiful flowers, no cares and no worries. Just us and nature. It really is the most wonderful thing.
